LGBTQ in Barcelona

This education abroad experience was developed by CSU’s Pride Center. It is a Summer Break experiential education program that examines advocacy and policies which affect the LGBTQ communities in Spain. By traveling to Barcelona and engaging in intentional activities, lectures, and events, students will have the opportunity to explore how one country’s journey toward equality can inform other countries.  Students engage in cross-cultural experiences which will enhance their ability to live and work in a multicultural society and gain a deeper understanding of LGBTQ culture internationally.  The CWSGR partners with the Pride Center through sponsoring their course in the Women’s Studies curriculum.

Alliance-Summer Institute for Social Justice Thru the Arts

A collaboration and partnership between the Alliance Program, CSU Dance, and the Center for Women’s Studies and Gender Research, this summer institute teaches basic social justice concepts and advocacy through integrated work and exploration in the arts. We emphasize collaborative learning among community educators, students, and faculty through teambuilding, intercultural dialogue, nurturing individual and collective voice, and fostering communication across differences.
