Holy Hormones Journal

The Holy Hormones Journal is filled with news articles, press releases, commentaries and research papers, on all the various issues that affect women’s health. These resources have been compiled over many years from many different sources. It is probably one of the best libraries available to medical consumers and all those concerned about women’s health care.

In order for women to make informed decisions about their health they need to have information, resources and data from credible sources that reflect current health trends. All too often issues that affect women do not make headline news; most days, articles on women’s health issues do not even make the first 10-pages of a publication. Some articles may appear in one part of the country– or world for that matter, and not in another. The information that women receive about their health is inconsistent at best.

This Journal is for women of all ages; so that we can become empowered by who we are, and not victimized by lack of menstrual health education or medical misinformation so common in our media driven culture. It is amazing to realize just how long some of these women’s health issues have been surfacing, and resurfacing, and resurfacing, without apparent resolution; but usually with another layer of confusion, that sometimes leads to more unfounded fear.

Understanding Your Mood, Mind, and Hormone Cycle

Understanding Your Mind, Mood, and Hormone Cycle was written for women who want to understand the sometimes, confusing physical and psychological changes they experience each month. It is also suggested reading for men who deal with hormonal women daily; and for educators, healthcare and social welfare professionals who support women of all ages that are struggling with physical and behavioral issues caused by hormonal changes.

Amy’s House

Amy’s House, opening in the fall of 2013 is a two-year evidence-based restorative care program for adolescent girls who have been rescued from the sex trafficking industry. Botha has been contracted to develop a comprehensive health education program for the girl’s entitled: My Body, My Power. The two - year curriculum with focus on the girl’s empowerment – with information on body literacy, menstrual health education – as well as an in-depth look at women’s history and the social/political/religious views steeped in our ‘femaleness’ that have affected our feelings of self-worth, values and accomplishments.

Botha is looking for interns with a strong interest in feminist views, and the social/politics of women’s health for the following projects:
Curriculum Development for Amy’s House
Blogging for Holy Hormones Journal
Social Media
Marketing
