Boyer Lecture and Reception

The Boyer Lecture and Reception takes place every Fall semester to honor the recipients of the Harriet "Patsy" Boyer Scholarship and to showcase the scholarly research of a Women's Studies faculty member. The event traditionally takes place at the end of September to mid-October. Named for Dr. Patsy Boyer, who retired as Professor Emerita from the Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures in Spring, 1997, the lecture and reception brings together students, staff and faculty in celebration of women's achievements At Colorado State University.

Recipients of the Boyer Lecture are nominated by colleagues and/or students and selected by the Women’s Studies Executive Board. Boyer lectures receive a small stipend honoring their work and are expected to deliver a presentation during the fall semester’s Boyer Reception. Nominations begin in March and awards are made the first week of June. The nomination packet must include the following:

  1. letter of nomination (maximum two pages, single-spaced)
  2. an abstract describing the research or project nominee proposes to present (maximum two pages, single-spaced) in a 30- 45 minute scholarly presentation; and
  3. nominee’s curriculum vitae.

 

The deadline for submission of Boyer lecture nominations April 30th by 5:00pm.
